Exams are next week. this is where I really get excited. not only will we be getting off of school this coming Thursday, but also I will be kicking it off with an awesome camping trip. I can almost say that I can't wait. these past few weeks it seems like I was about to just shut down and sleep for 4 days straight. but for Christmas break, what an act to follow. this semester has been awesome. I've learned a veritable barrage of things physically, spiritually, and socially. looking back at the semester that we have almost passed, I just think of all the great times that I have had. it would probably take a week to type 'em all out. so I'll just let you do the reminiscing. good times. well I'll prolly still update over the break so don't go anywhere (figuratively speaking)

Family

I guess you might have seen this coming. but when you have a break from school like this and you have some time to spend with your family. . . eating, you really begin to appreciate them. and I realize as I'm typing, that the family I have is the family I want, even though it doesn't seem so at times. We didn't get our families by accident, which, inversely, means we got them for a purpose. but I guess I've address two of the most important people groups in our lives, friends and family, and I want to draw it to this point. You are a friend and/or family member to others. Yes, I know that was obvious but sometimes we may forget it and think everyone should bow to our every little whimsy. So its "Thanksgiving time" (its an attitude, not a holiday) so spend some time with your family, you only get 'em once

Friends

I've been thinking lately about my friends, no don't worry its nothing bad. I've been thinking, what would I be like without my friends. you might say "lonely" and I would agree with you, but I'm thinking deeper. what would I be like if I hadn't met craig richards in the CDC, what would I be like if I had never met derrick davis, chris wright, or brice pratt. what would I be like if I never worked at the Dining Common.(yes I just had to work that in there)what would I be like if I went to a completely different school, with completely different people. would I be better or worse, and why? would I still be saved, or would I be living in sin. would I still have a sense of humor, would I be really shy? these are just a fraction of the myriad of questions you can ask. and I think that one of the greatest treasures you can have here, is good friends. friends that will help you along academically, mentally, physically, and spiritually. friends that will point out your faults (hopefully in private) and help you fix them. iron sharpeneth iron. to be frank, I don't know where I would be without the friends I have today, or what I would do without them.

Fall Back

about halfway through the semester. the classes are in full swing. golden park is next week. can't wait. but seems that we have reached the school. . .dare I say it routine. think through your day, and you will have little trouble. because we all have our routine. a system that if deviated from, will through off our whole day. weird huh? well in my mind variety is the spice of life, and if everything is always the same, everything is always boring, except for a few exceptions. but hey i'm just one guy trying to fight the enemy that is "mundane" and "monotony." and what better whay to do so, than to have a spontaneous bowling trip. or go to a game night. or go through one of my favorite times of the year, the time in which we gain an hour of sleep (yay). which can only mean that fall is here and the trees (and figureskater's blog apparently) are changing colors. and a drive through the mountains will in itself yield extreme visual entertainment. isn't creation great? but what i'm getting at here is that even though we're in the middle of the school year each with our own personalized routine, we can all stop and take a look at Creation around us and give God the glory. which is a primary reason why I believe camping is one of the greatest things ever invented (or discovered, but who knows)

Blue, White, and Spearhead

another chapter in BJA history comes to an end. The All-Star's scored decisive victories against the Eagles in both volleyball and soccer. The volleyball team won 3 slow agonizingly suspenseful games in a row. The soccer team won with one of the greatest shots by Eddie Barret finishing the game with a score of 2-1. After screaming our tonsils out and leaving with "cheering-headache" many acads went to get a good nights sleep for the Spearhead workday. Although I feel kinda bad because I signed up to do a skit for Spearhead, but did not realize until en route to said camp that I could not participate in any actual work. This made me kinda sad. But! we did put on one awesome fun time show, complete with many a song, messy makeup, squatty body, Ah!, and the King and I. though I don't think I will eat apple sauce anytime this week, The skits were a complete success.

School.

was it not said that all good things must come to an end, while that is not totally true, this summer is ending. three months of freedom from academic deadlines and goals. but now we must start the long, hard fearful, nay! even backbreaking school year ahead of us. yes i probably did go a little far with that last one, because i, for one, do not fear this year of school at all. you could almost sort of yet no where near close, say that i can't wait for it, but that too goes WAY too far. although I think there is one certain rising senior whose name rhymes with shmon shmappel who should win the award for EASIEST SENIOR YEAR featuring the dynamic duo of choir and handbells, yes handbells and choir. but i for one do not mind the school year at all, now the homework. . .well, thats a whole other post.
