One legacy ends, another continues

Tonight a band concert was held in the AAud. we honored Mr. Eric Woods, who is very special to me, for the express reason that he taught me Trombone and Band for Five (5) years. He has endured all my good moments and those moments that weren't so good (bad). he didn't just do this for me, but for my entire trombone section, in fact, for most of the band. He has, with the collaboration of various private lesson teachers, taught me all I know about Trombone and band. also the seniors of the band are leaving, some never to pick up a band instrument again. among these are my brother, and very many close friends of mine. some of them might go on to become accomplished muscicians and some, as previously stated, will never pick up a band instrument again. hopefully the latter will be the minority. I am excited to see the new "talent" entering the bands (i.e. "little overly", "little fisher", "mark vowels (eventually)" but most of all this post is dedicated to Mr. Woods my favorite band conductor, trombone teacher, and friend.

Today April 14th 2006 A.D. the freshmen of Bob Jones Academy were forced to undergo some of the worst torture known to man. . . Achivement Tests! Yes, the last Achievement tests of our lives were taken today, which was bitter sweet. While we were finishing the whole Achiving series, they also threw a new twist into them. . . they weren't timed. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, they weren't timed, they removed what seemed to be one of the main standardized things about them. Well, after suffering through the last Achievement tests, we then felt like banging our heads against the wall because of the boredom. I don't think it may be possible to explain in the english language just how boring these tests are, especially on a saturday. Yes, I will admit, they are probably just a boring for the teachers, but still. . . I am just happy they are overwith, because I viewed them like Band Auditions, They proved nothing, while you may be smart enough to ace any test, you may have an off day, or get confused, or mess up the extremely scantron-like answer "document". So lets have a "Yay!" for no more Achievement Tests. . .(Yay!) and also on this horrible day, something far more, I expect, exciting is happening. Junior Senior, ladies and gentlemen, Junior Senior is happening. Since I know how my brother works I don't expect to see him for another 6-8 hours (currently 10:50) so that is another big deal that won't happen to me for another 2 years. But, best of all, Achievement Tests are DONE! woohoo!

The Triumphant Return

This last week the Acads that went to New York returned, bearing many stories and really funny souvenirs. My brother along with about 40 other Acads went to Memorial Baptist Church. They were carted around New York by a large black body guard named Calvin. He once, after chasing down a mugger, took back his necklace, that was stolen, along with 10 dollars from his wallet. He apparently had some trouble getting his wallet because he took his pants too. He then threatened that after he counted to three, if he was still in his presence, he would take the rest of his clothes. magically, the mugger left! So they had bundles of fun in New York, but as far as I know no one was saved from the Memorial side of things, but many seeds were planted. So I think I speak for all the seniors that went when I say, "go!" it is fun and you get to experience the world and all that is in it.

as you are no doubt aware a large group of seniors and juniors from the acad are leaving this friday (the 31st) which means a variety of things. first of and most important (obvious sarcasm) I get my own room and a compy to myself for a week. second it means that they will be going to a dirt ridden city infested with druggies, muggers, and worst of all democrats. thirdly it means that they will require prayer. . . bigly. also Tim (my brother) will be going for his second second year, along with some other seasoned veterans. new york has been the source of many miracles, and many encouragings. so keep the acads in mind while they're gone. I know I will when I'm sitting at Tim's compy Tee-Hee. also I want to figure out what happens when you drop silly putty from the empire state building, that would be cool and deadly a combonation that makes great fun at parties.

Bible Conference Recap

The week started out Sunday night with a good sermon on John 1 by Bauder, and ended with a good sermon on Hebrews 11 by Paisley. The week was filled with good preachers and was a bigly encouragement to me and everyone else I hope. Also sitting on the front row while Dr. Ian Paisley is bringing the Word is awesome. This was cool for me because this was the first time that I have heard Dr. Paisley, because the last time he was here I was in the Elementary School. I think that the description of "powerful" to Dr. Paisley was an understatement, especially when you sit on the front row. The Usher Crew also was a semi-disappointment, although seeing that one guy jump up and rip off his coat to reveal that orange saftey vest was quite humorous. Another thing is that we reached our "goal" of 500000 dollars, because some person whose name I cannot recall, willed the University about 300000 dollars. score! overall this BC gets a grade of A+ 120%

So It Begins

It seems my idea was accepted by those who said something, so I'm making my riddle blog. First question may come tonight or tomorrow. the URL will be www.blogofquestion.blogspot.com ( questionblog was already taken) but if you guys we're secretly being over-nice and I don't get enough response I'll just delete it, or something, because the last thing you want is a useless blog.

What Do You Think?

I'm thinking about making a blog that is similar to Harvey's GTP blog, only it will deal with riddles and brain busters. I would post a new question everytime the old one is answered correctly. Difficulty would range from math problems to complex riddles. Time will be allowed for those more difficult ones. Hints would rarely be given, and like Harvey I would probably make some sort of point system with a table and something like that. If you would be interested in something like that, then drop a comment and tell me, if you aren't interested drop a comment. The whole of which would probably placed in another blog. So give me your oppinion, a majority vote wins in this case. . . most of the time.
