Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I wanted to have a post on one of the greatest reasons to celebrate. Thats right Jesus' birthday. Although many have said that Jesus wan't actually born today, but since we don't know most people celebrate it on the aformentioned 25th of December. The day were you spend time with your families because if you don't you'll hate yourself later. your family members are you friends and like most good things (most) don't last forever (on earth) so to prevent you from crying on your couch 27 years down the road, spend time with your family, play a game of Apples to Apples or Taboo or even Go Fish. Best wishes for another year and I hope you all have a wonderful break and enjoy every minute of it (or else!)
Have a Merry Christmas
Happy Hannuka for those Jewish watchers
And have a happy New Year

why wouldn't girls like stategy involved in a game?? that's a little sexist.

runnergrl23 said...

i am not blonde and i purposefully did not comment on the remark about girls talking because i know it's true. talking is not a bad thing!

runnergrl23 said...

if you think talking should be used in moderation, why are your comments the longest?? and why are you ending them all with really cool words that no one will use in normal conversations(this applies only to the diseases)??

runnergrl23 said...

yes, i got the email.
i didn't say you couldn't put words at the end of your comments, i just said it didn't make sense for someone who was talking about how much girls like to share their vocabularies . . .

Big Jigger said...

any particular names attached to that last statement? I would like to know who these strategy ladies are.

runnergrl23 said...

i could probably beat you in a strategy game . . .

p8balllvr-your fancy words don't offend me, they just sound a little hypocritical

timford-i's good to know that not all guys are as sexist as p8balllvr

Big Jigger said...

Ouch, being a little harsh don't you think? at worst I think P8balllvr was making a shameless stereotipical generalization, not being sexist, of course those could be synonomous in some circumstances (hmm. . .)

also I would be honored to battle wits in a game of strategy any day with you runnergrl, you and p8balllvr (save risk)

runnergrl23 said...

i wasn't being harsh, i was being honest. obviously some of you can't handle the truth.

runnergrl23 said...

timford-thanks for the link to the women rulers. that was pretty snazzy.

Big Jigger said...

I might as well because its 2v1 for p8ballvr

"Girls also might not like this game because strategy is important. All that is required for Scategories is a large vocabulary which most girls have"

I do recall that he said girls MIGHT not like this game, for the apparently not-so-obvious statement that he thought that some girls would not like it because of the whole stratey thinking thing, because like he also said some girls don't like the whole war thing, while many ladies like scattergories(except for Tim TEE- HEE), which he also complemented by making an obvious, and corret might I add, statement that many ladies have big vocabularies, from this we can deduc e that even if p8balllvr was being sexist it wasn't toward all girls (that means you rg) and if he was it was probably accidental, and he complemented on most girl's (that means you rg) large vocaularies

Big Jigger said...

if it is impossible to be sexist toward just some girls than p8balllvr wasn't being sexist, he was not insulting all girls and therefore by your definitions was not being sexist, he was just generalizing a group not all ladies(by use of the word might[i.e.Girls also might not like this game]he was implying that some girls like strategy games, or in certain circumstances taking over a empire in a military coo(see Tim's link), and of course some girls (NOT MENTIONING NAMES) do not exemplify the ability to play indepth strategy games (I reiderate SOME GIRLS NOT ALL) and also most girls dont like the whole war aspect ("Some people might have objections to the war-like elements in Risk")

runnergrl23 said...

jigger, if you are going to argue, at least try to make sense, and if you are going to quote something, quote all of it, not just part of it.

"All that is required for Scattergories is a large vocabulary which most girls have and like to share with us all the time i.e. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH,BLAH,etc."
(i have corrected the spelling error for clarity purposes.)

i DON'T think that is a complement.

runnergrl23 said...

do you guys realize that this whole conversation really has nothing at all to do with jigger's post?

Big Jigger said...

obvious sarcasm in certain certain circumstances can be complementary in other words i'm prety to mostly sure he was kidding

posts are meant to generate topics of discussion whether they are about my post or not

usually I won't post so much on my own blog but this was too fun

Big Jigger said...

I guess my mind does work weird because my comments make perfect logical sense to me, and I said he was kidding, I guess I use the word sarcasm as a "saying something without meaning it" word, and your examples don't work at all, because your "I might kick your booty" refers to one booty not a group of it, besides are you really trying to argue that p8balllvr is sexist on purpose?

Big Jigger said...

methinks this has gotten out of hand, a.k.a the only way my comments have been answered is "you make no sense" and since I have had no explanation to this this conversation will end here

any more comments made on the subject of the supposed sexist p8balllvr will be deleted

lets change the subject to something more lighthearted and . . . logical like settlers of catan or global warming

runnergrl23 said...

please don't delete this one, jigger. i just wanted to apologize for making such a big deal about it. it didn't really bother me that much, but to be honest, i like a good debate, and that's definitely what i got. it's been sort of fun.

Big Jigger said...

indeed I agree it was a good debate but just for the record if you do't understand something tell me what it is because when you say "that made no sense" I get nothing from it, I don't know what is illogical, also my comments were trying to peer into the mind of p8balllvr, I was trying to look at it from what he was thinking of when he said it, I think thats why you didn't understand it (Tim didn't because he's stupid TEE HEE) if that explains it then. . .

In Settlers of Catan players try to be the dominant force on the island of Catan by building settlements, cities, and roads. On each turn dice are rolled to determine the current production on the island. Players collect raw materials to build up their civilizations to gain enough victory points to win the game. This game is a Spiel des Jahres (German game of the year) winner, primarily because of its amazing ability to appeal to non-gamers and gamers alike.

theres your definition p8balllvr (sorry for the length of comment)

runnergrl23 said...

jigger-sorry about not explaining what didn't make sense.

elimelech- no conclusions or agreements were reached, because jigger said he would delete anymore comments about p8ballvr.(i.e. any comments for my side of the argument.)

Big Jigger said...

fine, fine if you're going to complain like that let's hear your conclusions and what not the posting is now open again. . . temporarily

elimelech you should bring yourself over here to play, have you ever played knights and cities?

runnergrl23 said...

i'm not complaining, i was merely explaining to elimelech what was going on. anyways, this subject is getting a little boring. anything new to argue about?
